Thinking about joining an intentional community? Curious to learn about communities from them directly? Want to peak inside community living and get your questions answered?
The Virtual Tour of Intentional Communities is the event experience for you! Each month we bring together a variety of new and established intentional communities — ecovillages, cohousing, shared homes, coliving spaces and more — to present about about their community in an interactive setting. You’ll experience photos, videos, captivating stories, and insightful dialogue among the presenting communitarians. Plenty of time is included for you to ask your burning questions about community living. Come travel to communities around the world without leaving your armchair!

Presenting Communities
La Ecovilla
La Ecovilla is an ecological community located in San Mateo, in the Alajuela province, in Costa Rica. The community practices many sustainability measures, including the recollection and utilization of rainwater, communal orchards, recycled plastic roads, generation of electricity from renewable sources, and a biodigester – an advanced system destined to recycle and cleanse both grey and black water while also generating methane gas, utilized to cook or to produce electricity via underground wiring – turning La Ecovilla into the first neighbourhood in the zone to have access to such technology.
The Popular Place
The Poplar Place is an urban household with four adults in beautiful Lancaster City, PA. We are broadly Christian, expressing a range of beliefs/commitments, but share an ardent desire to grow in our relationship to God. We are committed to growing into a greater awareness of the infinite beauty, value, and gift of each person. We commit to Earth care and invest in our neighborhood through following a plant-based diet, living locally, tending our expansive backyard garden, leading a neighborhood composting initiative, and maintaining a free food/goods stand just outside our house.
Our Home Cathedral Park
Our Home – Cathedral Park is a unique cohousing community and the flagship development of Our Home, Inclusive Community Collaborative. OHICC’s mission ‘to promote, support and develop inclusive and diverse communities’ is the foundation that Our Home – Cathedral Park is built upon. With the assistance of OHICC, our community members are championing a groundbreaking approach to building community, combining innovative design and thoughtful management to host a variety of home ownership opportunities for individuals and families of diverse abilities, ages, and income levels.

All our events are run on a sliding scale basis. Generous donations cover the costs for low-income attendees. FIC is committed to making our programs accessible to people of all walks of life.
