Alternative Housing Models for Aging in Community
Much like planting a tree, the best time to start planning how you will age in community was 20 years ago.
The second best time is now.
Join us with national expert on aging in community Marianne Kilkenny for a webinar to start exploring your possible life options for the years ahead.
Marianne firmly believes that aging in community presents elders with the best opportunities for embracing our sovereignty as we age and living in a community provides much more resilient housing than attempting to age in place alone.
In this 90-minute webinar, she will guide us through the many housing choices that are available currently for us to age in community and which options are best for different lifestyles and budgets. She will also introduce us to some now possible models for aging in community that hold great promise but are beyond what currently exists.
This presentation will also cover terminology and a variety of options to start your journey including cohousing, shared housing, naturally occurring retirement communities (NORCs), and your own neighborhood.
During this session you will:
- Discover what alternative housing models resonate with you
- Expand your knowledge of the choices that exist
- Start the process of investigating possible life choices for the years ahead
- Choose where and with whom you spend your 2nd and 3rd chapters of life
