I’m selling my 1844 square foot pentagonal house, on 3.35 acres of hardwood forest in the Miccosukee Land Co-op. It has 10 rooms: a 440 square foot great room in the middle, with a cathedral ceiling and central skylight, 5 bedrooms, a dining room, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. Hand-made oak doors, and oak trim, and many (leak proof) skylights. I designed it for group living or a big family. It has five exit doors, and the whole house, as well as three large outside decks, are all on the same level – no stairs to fall down. The front deck surrounds and embraces a 75 foot Beech tree, and it has a 150 square foot sky deck in the tree tops, which is a place commune with the birds. It also has a tall boat barn, a workshop with small carports on each side. It is in the Miccosukee Land Co-op, which is a 51 year old intentional community of about 140 households (200+ people) on 344 acres of mostly forest land that is a wildlife sanctuary. The Co-op has a robust community life, and has a 3200 square foot community centre, a swimming pool cooperative, a volunteer fire department, and 90 acres of common lands. A boardwalk network traverses some of the wetlands. It has many community activities and festivals. I could make a video, if someone were interested.
I just had it appraised, and it came out at $315,000. So that is what I’m selling it for.
