About the event

In this webinar, we will discuss the recent Convergence of Intentional Communities (CIC) and some of its resultant Working Groups, including Partnerships with the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) and other aligned organizations, a Northeast bioregional gathering at Sirius Community next spring, exchange programs across communities, and more!

About Your Host

Daniel Greenberg

Daniel Greenberg is the Co-Executive Director of the Foundation for Intentional Community. Back in 1998, following his Ph.D. dissertation on Growing up in Intentional Communities, Daniel founded Living Routes, which ran study abroad programs in ecovillages around the world. In 2012, he started Earth Deeds, which offers online tools to account for our unavoidable CO2 emissions.

This Weeks Guest Speakers

Keala Young

Keala is a co-founder of Atlan Community near the Columbia River Gorge in the Pacific Northwest and serves as a Network Steward Circle member and Regional Liaison to the Global Ecovillage Network representing North America.

Also a whole systems design consultant, regenerative practitioner and permaculture teacher with a background in the healing arts and group facilitation.

Vinay Orekondy

An attorney, mediator, community organizer, advocate, and a coalition-builder, originally from Australia. Upon emigrating to the United States, he became interested in electoral reform issues and was active in Rank the Vote’s efforts to bring ranked-choice voting to America. He recently became co-chair of the Braver Network at Braver Angels, and is Co-Founder and Partnerships Director at Better Together America and Partnerships Director at The Grand Bargain Project. Vinay lives in Maitri House, an intentional community in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Geni Dedam

Geni Dedam CEO and Consultant for InfiniteTrees Project, An organization that researches and develops regenerative business, education, and communities. They are an Organizational Development Member of Sirius Community in Shutesbury MA. A volunteer and event organizer whos teaming up with Syd Harvey and Permatours to create the first annual NorthEast Communities Convergence May 1-5 2025.

Gabriel Futterman

Gabriel Futterman lives at Sirius Community in Western Massachusetts, is involved with NextGENNA (the youth branch of the Global Ecovillage network North America), and studies Social Ecology. He is interested in Intentional Communities as a tool for social transformation.
