Conflict Resolution with Nonviolent Communication [Workshop]

September 9, 2021 @ 12:00 PM 2:00 PM CDT

Conflict Resolution with Nonviolent Communication

September 9th | 12:00-2:00pm Eastern

Conflict Resolution with Nonviolent Communication

Conflict is inevitable, but it can serve as a powerful catalyst for mutual goodwill, empathy and self-owning within a community.

In this 2-hour interactive workshop, we’ll be covering how Nonviolent Communication can help you and your community move through it, to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.

Alan Rafael Seid brings a lively and engaging style to his trainings, combining humor, exercises for practice, a deep understanding of the theory behind the process, and a keen sensitivity to individual and group needs. This workshop will cover a re-cap of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg’s process called Nonviolent Communication, or NVC, which emerged out of a sense of alignment with Gandhi’s social movement of Nonviolence. We will then look at how NVC is used to support conflict toward mutually beneficial outcomes.

Key outcomes of this workshop:

  • Become acquainted with a process for enriching personal and professional relationships
  • Understand the role of an NVC-informed mediator or facilitator, and the basic structure for getting through tough conversations
  • Gain insights into why past mediation attempts have failed
  • Learn the most overlooked insight to preventing and resolving conflicts

I am constantly impressed by the down-to-earth practicality of the FIC workshops combined with the philosophical questions that are so vital for us to explore. I’m grateful for the excellent planning and delivery of the workshops by skilled and inclusive presenters, who create a space that is both welcoming and invites participants to challenge existing ideas and world views. Well done and thank you FIC.Claire Ogden
