Social Media Internship
The Foundation for Intentional Community (FIC) is seeking a Social Media Intern to work closely with our Social Media Manager to support the ongoing management of our social media channels, including: Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. The position involves sourcing content from intentional communities, the media, and partner organizations. Then editing content and drafting copy with the FIC brand voice to prepare for publishing, under the guidance of our Social Media Manager. The ideal candidate has social media savvy, passion for intentional community, and a desire to gain skills to advance a career in communications work.

Position Details
Commitment: 20 hours/month, through August 2021
Compensation: $10/hr stipend, contracted
Location: Remote position, candidates must be in a time zone compatible with attending meetings during business hours in North American time zones
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Draft weekly posts for Facebook and Instagram
- Help respond to messages through social media
- Outreach to intentional communities to source content
- Create social media graphics using Canva
- Weekly Zoom meetings with staff as needed
- Support development of YouTube Channel
- Support other marketing/communication tasks from staff as needed
Desired Skills and Experience
- Passion for intentional communities, ideally lives in or is starting a community
- Familiarity with Facebook and Instagram
- Graphic design experience, ideally using Canva, is a plus
- Has reliable internet connection and decent laptop/PC
- Ability to work in highly collaborative remote teams
- Well organized and timely communicator
- Desire to learn new skills and responds well to feedback
